Axen Print Spy was projected to perform on Windows network environments, the world leader platform of network environments. The service may be installed in any print server based on Windows NT 4.0 Server, NT 4.0 Workstation, 2000 Server, 2000 Professional, XP or 2003 Server. It's not required that a Windows domain exists, if user authentication is realized by a member computer.

Client workstations can have Windows 9x to XP, or even Linux and Unix operating systems*.

Axen Print Spy can be used with network printers as well as slave printers, right connected to workstations.

Print Spy Administration Tool is based on the already consolidated explorer-like design of management, so with two or three mouse clicks it allows to define parameters for any printer, user or group. This tool may be used remotely.

Customized batch scripts, combined with command line options to export reports, allows to automate publishing or distribution of information in the company.

Axen Print Spy is distributed with a Microsoft Access database but it can use another market relational database to store data, in as much as it supports Oledb or ODBC and automatic generation of numeric sequences. The product is actually certified on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle 9i.

This solution allows to specify variable page costs depending on paper size and job attributes like "color" and "duplex".

Quota control may be enabled for individual users and printers and is independent of recording job information in the database. This allows complementary use of policies.

Record of print jobs information may be set by printer allowing to implement best relation "disk space consumption/benefit".

User licenses are sold by print servers, representing a one-time, simple cost that is not related to the quantity of workstations, printers, users or print volume, being recovered in up to 30 days of product usage.
